Changing your DNS Numbers
MacOS and Windows9x How to set your DNS numbers for MartNet.comNOTE: THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR REALLY OLD COMPUTER SYSTEMS (like Windows 3.11 or MacOS 7) AND SHOULD NOT BE USED UNLESS YOU HAVE AN OLD SYSTEM AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING MARTNET NO LONGER SUPPORTS THESE INSTRUCTIONS OR ANCIENT SYSTEMS, SO BE CAREFUL.----------- A. Windows InstructionsNOTE: You will have to REBOOT your machine to effect these changes at the end of these steps. Don't start this process with your unsaved Doctoral Thesis open in MS Word... This is the simplest way to ensure that you get good connections. For advanced users, the actual new DNS numbers follow this text. 1. Double-click on "My Computer,"

4. At the bottom of the window,
there will be a white box with "Name Server Addr.:" next to it. Select
all the numbers in the white box, and delete them. 216.126.128.40 8. After you have finished typing in the numbers, click (once) on the square in the upper left hand corner of the "TCP/IP" window. An alert box will appear that asks "Do you want to save these configurations?" Click on "Save."
